Justin Holt – 2018 Missing Person – Twin Lake
Case Information
Name: Justin Lee Holt
Date: January 3, 2018
Location: Twin Lake, Michigan
35 year old Justin Holt was last seen in Twin Lake, Michigan on January 3, 2018. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
When his family tried to get in touch with him all calls went straight to voicemail, prompting them to call the police and ask for a welfare check.
A welfare check was conducted at his home in the 6000 block of 10th Street in Cedar Creek Township. The back door to his home was unlocked and his truck was parked in the driveway, however Justin was nowhere to be found.
Justin’s coat, shoes, cigarettes, glasses, and vehicle were left behind, but his phone, keys, and wallet were gone.
His brother says Justin always kept his cigarettes in his front pocket, so when he saw those left behind he knew something was wrong.
Drops of Justin’s blood were found in the driveway, but cadaver dogs were not able to detect the scent of human remains.
Investigation
Justin’s phone has been turned off, and there’s been no activity on his credit cards since he disappeared. The last ping on his cellphone was near his home on the night he disappeared.
Family members found a set of footprints in the snow leading to Clear Lake, however searches of the area found no additional clues as to his whereabouts.
A search of Crystal Lake, located near Ryerson and Holton Duck Lake roads, using divers and side-scan sonar was also conducted.
Holt was in the process of trying to get custody of his children, which is why his family doesn’t believe he would have left on his own. There had been threats made against Justin in the custody case, but the person who made them was in Louisiana at the time of his disappearance.
