24 year old Darrin Wyatt was murdered during a home invasion on January 18, 2016 at 3:20 am. The incident took place in the 5800 block of Vancourt Ave. near West Warren Ave. on the west side of Detroit.
Darrin Wyatt was asleep when someone broke into his home. The family was awoken by the sound of glass breaking and called 911. When Wyatt came to the top of the stairs to find out what was going on he was shot multiple times. He died before making it to the hospital.
Seven people were inside the home at the time, including his 3-year-old daughter.
The shooter is believed to have fled in a dark-colored midsized vehicle.
Darrin Wyatt graduated from Western International High School where he played on the football team. He studied business management at Michigan State University and worked in logistics. Darrin was employed at Hollingsworth Logistics Management of Detroit, and was in the works to open his own businessto becalled D’s Simple Maintenance. He leaves behind three children.
