16 year old Marvel Anderson was last seen in St. Ignace, Michigan on May 2, 1994. She was a sophomore at LaSalle High School and 5 months pregnant when she went missing.
She was last seen leaving school on the afternoon of May 2, 1994, headed towards her home on Glashaw Street. When she failed to return home, her mother reported her missing.
Authorities initially thought she was a runaway, and that she had possibly headed to Texas to stay with a friend.
On September 3, 1995, Marvel’s skeletal remains were found by bear hunters in the Hiawatha National Forest, about 10 miles north of St. Ignace. Dental records were used to confirm her identity.
Her death was ruled a homicide. Police stated that the killer(s) were likely familiar with where the body was found. No arrests have been made in connection with her murder.
